If Christ Never Said Being Gay Was Sinful Then it’s OK! Right?

Another tactic used by the promoters of the LGBT lifestyle is to try and use Holy Scripture to their conduct.  They claim that since Jesus of Nazareth, the Christ, never spoke a word against homosexuality in the Gospel accounts then He was somehow justifying it.  Well, literally he didn’t in his earthly ministry; but his inspired word before His arrival on the scene in the 2nd Temple Era and His inspired word after his crucifixion certainly did.

I won’t point out the numerous Torah teachings on the subject but let’s take a closer look shall we at what the Alpha and the Omega inspired his followers to think and teach in the New Testament apostolic accounts.

In Romans chapter 1:24-31, the Apostle Paul cited the one sin that demonstrates God’s judgment on a nation, sodomy. He describes it as ‘uncleanness’ and an act ‘dishonor[ing] their own bodies’(v.24).   He described it as having its genesis in ‘vile affections’ and a ‘reprobate mind’ (v.26, 28). He described it as being against nature and ‘unseemly’ (v.27).   Paul describes the open acceptance of such practices by a nation as ripe for divine punishment for willfully forsaking the true God and worshiping idols (i.e. the idol of the human body). This divine punishment is the more severe, in that they are given over to a reprobate condition, and not simply to evil desires.

Next, in 1 Corinthians 6:9, Paul answers the question of whether a practicing homosexual can enter heaven.   “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind…shall inherit the kingdom of God.”

The book of Jude reveals the final end for those of the LGBT lifestyle. “Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire” (1:7). Sodom and Gomorrah had enjoyed many privileges. They were places of great beauty and were fruitful. They had kings and a proper government.  They had recently been delivered out of the hands of their enemy. Righteous Lot was among them, and Abraham interceded for the city. Yet, suddenly destruction came. Fire from the Lord brought total and everlasting destruction. Jude uses this as a representation of hell fire, and as a warning as to the end of all who practice such abominations.

While the fore mentioned stresses the sinful nature of any deviation from the seventh commandment, Ephesians 5:30-32, describes the beauty of the institution of marriage.  It speaks of it as representative of the union between Christ and his people, is between a man and a woman and isn’t lustful and unprofitable as sodomy but pure.  It is an intimate love bearing healthy spiritual fruit.   Anything else is of the devil, and will only bring death.

Considering what the Bible says about the LGBT lifestyle, it follows that being ‘Christian’ and ‘Gay’ are like oil and water: two opposite and contradictory terms which cannot be mixed. Whether you believe homosexuality is hereditary (which no authentic, objective, peer reviewed scientific evidence has ever proven) or learned behavior is totally irrelevant.   It is conduct condemned by God just as much as he condemned adultery, theft, rape, etc.; irregardless of whether it is learned behavior or in our genes. The clear fact is that homosexual behavior is an abomination before God, and that should end all disputes on the matter.  It is also a culture of death leading many of its members to the grave, 20-30 years prematurely.

I have to admit, it was a cute idea to claim Christ never expressly spoke against homosexuality in the four accounts.  But as I pointed out in the beginning those behind such a scheme fail to take into account Christ’s inspired teachings in the Old Testament.  Could it be that when he walked the earth in the 2nd Temple era he simply felt that it just wasn’t necessary to go into this issue any further?  No matter, He made it clear he didn’t come to do away with the Torah.  Instead he came to fulfill it.  In fact, the only things in the Torah he was advocating to overturn were the onerous rules and regulations the Jewish religious leaders added to it just to strengthen their control over the Hebrew people.

LGBT advocates but your position on this matter is wrong and is fraught with eternal peril.  Your members should renounce this sinful and deadly lifestyle before it’s too late.   They should know that there is one, true living god who knows each of them personally.  He cares about each of them and wants all of them to spend eternity in the paradise he has provided for them.  First they must become “justified” by faith, repenting of this behavior, and seeking His forgiveness for being what all men and women are, sinners.  They should then invite his Holy Spirit into their hearts and minds to achieve “sanctification”, i.e. a state of walking the rest of their earthly lives attempting to emulate Him.  Christ stands ready, with his arms open wide to accept and become for each of them their adoptive, spiritual father.  I implore you to do as all sinners should- become justified by faith.  Do not let your heart beat its last before doing this, otherwise you face and will certainly suffer eternal judgment for it before Christ’s great white throne.
